Smile distributed rendering with iMacs

Hi, I coordinate a course in Motion Design. We use LW on macintosh computers and I'm seeking ways in which to speed up rendering for students. Is there and easy option to distribute rendering or other ways of sharing cpus. I also have two 'old' G5 twin-chip towers sitting doing nothing. Shame not to put them to use somehow.
Any ideas welcome. David

hey, replying to my own post.
I've been reading more of the manual and there is certainly lots of comprehensive info for how it is done. Complex by the looks. I'll read it a few times.
Anyway... if anyone is confident that this will work across different mac models and OS versions without trouble I'd appreciate hearing your opinion.

thanks

david
